In 1955, Fred and Evelyn Greenberg started Timber Ridge Camp in the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains of West Virginia.   Their vision was to provide a place where children from around the country and world could have new, exciting and unique experiences in a safe and caring environment.  Timber Ridge was originally comprised of three camps on separate facilities: White Mountain, Green Briar and Teen Town.  Today, Timber Ridge operates as one camp, building on the foundation of our legacy. to be considered one of the finest summer camps in the country.  With over 50 successful summers under the same family ownership, many camps have emulated our programming and look towards Timber Ridge as the leader in the industry.

Timber Ridge Camp is one big family and we pride ourselves on the attention we give to every child.  Here are some of the people that make that happen:

Fred and Evelyn Greenberg
Uncle Fred and Aunt Evelyn ARE Timber Ridge. Besides dedicating their entire life  to the development of our outstanding facility, they have watched their three children and seven grandchildren make Timber Ridge their home away from home.

Jill Goden
Jill, like the rest of her family, began at camp as a youngster and has stuck with it ever since. A graduate of University of Maryland, Jill oversees all operations as the president and the co-director during the summer. Jill and her husband, Eric, have two children, Jobi and Zack, both of whom were campers and counselors at Timber Ridge.

Zack Goden
Zack is proud to be the third generation of the Greenberg family to work at Timber Ridge.  He is the head administrator during the winter months and head of operations during the summer.

Chris Jesse
Chris worked as a division leader and counselor at camp for 6 years.  A recent graduate of Indiana University, Chris is the director of hiring and will continue our tradition of hiring great staff.  Throughout the winter Chris travels to numerous universities to personally interview the counselors who will be living with your children. During the summer, Chris is the business administrator and group organizer.
