While we are incredibly proud of our fine facility and amazing activities, what makes Timber Ridge so special is our staff. After all, the connection with people and the strong family feeling at camp are why campers return every summer. The most important aspect to a successful summer experience is a caring and nurturing staff. Timber Ridge differentiates itself from most other camps in the industry based on our hiring philosophy. Other camps hire simply using the internet or by using outside staffing services. This method of hiring does not allow those camp directors to truly know who is working with their campers. Also, most other camps hire a large number of international staff who may have a difficult time communicating with or understanding the needs of your child. Our mission is to meet face to face with every potential staff member prior to their employment at camp. We travel extensively around the country to universities, both big and small, looking for the most qualified counselors and activity specialist. We assemble an outstanding group of professionals to oversee and direct our activity areas. These directors are assisted by well qualified counselors to teach our campers in all of activity areas. Timber Ridge’s staff is comprised of seasoned, well-trained professionals and college students whose common bond is their love of children and camp. Our 3:1 camper to staff member ratio allows us to meet the individual needs of your child. We have a strong core adults (who are parents themselves) to supervise all aspects of camp life.
